Our not-so-perfect Thanksgiving weekend

The weekend is over, THANK GOODNESS! Maybe our good luck will come back. On Wednesday night, we were headed down to the church so I could practice the organ and piano, but, as I went to step on what I THOUGHT was the ground, I missed the last step entirely and hurt my ankle

UGH! Well, that got me out of practicing Ü I wasn't about to go back up the stairs, so Marcus helped me hop to the car. I called my Mom to make sure she was home, because that's where we were headed anyway, and went down there. She was telling me that it wasn't broken, but she didn't sound too sure, so I just sat there and iced my foot.

The next morning we went down about 8 to have her look at it again, before we went to Turkey Bowl with Marcus' family. She said that it should probably be looked at, and offered to take me to the ER while Marcus played football. Wasn't that so nice of her? Marcus sure appreciated it, although, he got ridiculed for leaving me at the ER while he played football. Honestly, I told him to play. How often does he get to see his siblings? I wasn't dying, so I didn't mind!

We sat at the hospital for a long time and found out that I only sprained my ankle, no break. I dunno if that's good or bad. I've heard everybody tell me that a sprain is worse than a break. Here's what it looked like on Sunday night.
The swollen and discolored side of my ankle
The bruised side of my ankle
Thanksgiving this year was with Marcus' family. We all met at the church, because there are too many people for a house. I learned something new about the Wursten family that I didn't know before. They run on Mormon Standard Time. I skipped breakfast that morning and was starving by 2, when dinner was supposed to be. Marcus and I showed up at 1:55. Grandma & Grandpa, Janene and Melissa were the only ones there. Finally, 3 o'clock rolled around and we got to eat! I was sitting around, and Caitlin saw my camera, and of course wanted to take pictures. They are all the pictures I got of the whole day. I feel bad. Here are my 2 favorite ones.
Katie Gardner
Noah Kennedy. Isn't he so cute?
And the winner! Nate Kennedy. I think this picture is hilarious!
After we ate our extremely delicious turkey and other things, we had their annual "Christmas Party" I guess you could call it. It's basically a Wursten family concert night. Any of them who have talent, and even those who don't, sing and play instruments. This is where my theory of them running on Mormon Standard Time was confirmed. It was supposed to start a 6, but I looked at the clock about 6:15 and we still hadn't started. I was subborn and wouldn't sing with all of Marcus' family. I'm sorry I didn't get up there, I just really can't sing. Next year I'll play the piano (If I get a piano or keyboard at my house anytime between now and then.) I would have played the piano for them, but I injured my right (pedal) foot and didn't dare.
Our HOA is doing lots of repairs on all the apartments and the repairs this week are interior repairs. Last night we had to pull all our crap 5 feet away from the shared walls in our house. This included our HEAVY entertainment center and the extra bedroom. Thanks to Pace for saving the day! He helped Marcus move the big stuff, because I'm a wimp and can't lift very much. I spent Saturday morning hobbling around cleaning our apartment, but you really can't tell from these pictures.
The extra room that hold scrapbook stuff, and all our junk.
The dining room. All that should be there is the table. No couches or chairs or crap on the table.
Our living arrangements for the week. The couch with the computer on it is facing the TV, which brings me to the next part of our not-so-perfect weekend...
In the process of moving our furniture, the TV was moved. Marcus sat down to play some animal crossing, and this was our surprise.
Those colored lines and black spots in the bottom left side aren't part of Animal Crossing graphics. The thin piece of glass that's inside the TV broke. So, those colored lines and black spots are for permanent. :( Marcus was so sad. He tried to hide it, but it didn't work. I could see right through him. He even said "Are you ready for bed?" before I did last night, and that's the first time he's ever wanted to go to sleep before me. I felt so bad. I'm just personally glad I didn't touch the TV at all before then, because I would be the one feeling bad.
The workers did show up when they said they were going to, which is a first, which means we did move all that stuff for a reason last night. So, that's a good thing!

Yow! Ouchie! That ankle looks painful!

Love the pictures from the Thanksgiving dinner. Yes, the family definitely runs on Mormon Standard time, and this year was no exception!
