2nd Dose of Birth Control

Last night was SO much better than the night before! I got off work an hour early, and went home to shower and change my clothes. Then we went to get the chillins from my Mom's house, but learned that we would be staying at Ren's house another night because Halle was not eating well. So we left the kids with my Mom and ran home to get our work clothes.

Shaynie really wanted to go see baby Halle. She even started crying at school because I told her we couldn't. (I guess it's RSV season and they strongly suggest leaving kids at home). So we bribed her by telling her we would surprise her Mom and Dad by decorating the house and making cookies. So, we went to Wal Mart for supplies. My Mom told me Shaynie was very impatient with us because we took a long time to get our stuff and go to Wal Mart. We walked around for a while, because we totally forgot we had parental responsibilities. Oops.

Anyway, we got them home and instead of making cookies, they took a bath. Then they cleaned their bedroom with Marcus while I picked up the rest of the house. THEN we got to make the sign for the door. Shaynie was SO excited! Finally at 9, it was off to bed for all 4 of us.

Luckily they both only woke up once, and it was at the same time. They were both screaming for their Momma. I put a blanket over Daiken and he stopped immediately. It was like magic. Then I rubbed Shaynie's face for no more than 5 seconds and she was out too. So, all in all, it was much improved from the night before. We had lots of fun together. I'm now more confident that I could do the whole "kids" thing. :)

I have realized that children are a HUGE commitment. I've always known that to an extent, but it never really dawned on me that I would no longer have very much personal time or time with just Marcus. I'm thankful we got to watch Shaynie and Daiken for me to realize these things. Of course I still want kids and would love every minute, but this is going to make me cherish my time with Marcus and my alone time so much more. Thanks and congrats Ren and Chelsie.

I never really cherished the time when it was just Philip & I. We only had 9 months before Josh came along. :)

I'm glad I know who to call if we ever need an overnight babysitter! ;)

Are you sure that was only your second dose of birth control? You've hung around my kids, haven't you? My youngest sister still doesn't have kids because she's met mine! ;)

I have been around your kids, but I haven't been "in charge" of them, so it really didn't affect me Ü Your poor sister!
