If you know anybody that's baby hungry and you have children, just let them tend your kids over night. That will cure the baby hunger for awhile. I was wanting a baby last night. My sister-in-law just had a baby yesterday, and we volunteered to watch the other 2. After last night, I decided I like my sleep too much to have a baby right now. Here's why:
12:00 am: We finally fell asleep.
2:30 am: Daiken wakes up screaming "I want Mommy, I want Mommy". I went and rubbed his back until he fell asleep.
4:00 am: Shaynie wakes up crying because there are boogers in her nose. (I sleep all the time with boogers in my nose!)
4:15 am: Shaynie yells, "McKenzie!" I went in there. "I need to blow my nose again." This time, I took her to sleep by me so I wouldn't have to get up and blow her nose every 15 minutes.
4:45 am: I thought I was awakened by a earthquake! Scared me to death, but it was just someone stealing the bus to take kids to school, thank goodness.
5:15 am: It sounds like someone is trying to pick the lock on the door. Come to find out, It's the bird playing with her cage.
6:30 am: Marcus alarm goes off. I'm almost positive he slept through almost everything up until now. He was snoring pretty good.
7:00 am: My alarm goes off. I reset it to 7:30 :)
7:10 am: Marcus leaves, Daiken is awake running around the house, which means I'm up!
7:45 am: Still trying to wake up Shaynie to get her ready for school.
8:15 am: Go to the car to find that Marcus took the car with the car seats AND backpack. *grumble grumble*
8:20 am: Drive to the babysitters. Shaynie gets her old wet car seat [we lined the seat with Marcus' pajamas so she wouldn't get wet ;)], Daiken gets to sit on the seat. (Babysitter lives like 1 minute away)
8:21 am: Drop Daiken off
8:45 am: Get Shaynie to school and am told I have to wait with her until 9... I'm supposed to be at work at 8:50.
8:50 am: Find someone to watch Shaynie for me. Thanks Valisa!
8:55 am: Get to work. Realize I'm tired and have to sit here ALL day. Crap. No shower or make-up. Just threw on my clothes and pulled my hair into a pony tail. I like having a shower!
To every Mom out there, You're amazing and my hero! You sacrifice a lot for your children, and even if they don't appreciate it yet, they will one day.
And yes, I did miss Biggest Loser (except the weigh-in and twist) so if there was anything exciting, I'd appreciate an update!)

McKenzie....I can totally empathize with your bad night of no sleep. What's funny is that even though 85% of my nights seem to go like that, I still have hope every single night that I might somehow sleep through the entire night without little ones needing me! HA HA HA.....sleep deprivation is my biggest challenge about being a mom....I love sleep and really miss it!....However, when it's your own kids, it doesn't seem quite as bad and you get used to running on less sleep....you do get flakier, however.
I agree with what Melanie said. The no sleep thing really is a challenge. Riley has been waking up around 1:30 am every night for the past 3 months. and is usually up off and on until 6. So it's not the baby keeping us up. She sleeps for 12 hours!! And it is alot easier when it is your own kids. I remember being up with Jaden one weekend when I brought him home with me when he was 3. He was up all night puking.(which he had never done before in his life so it really freaked him out and he wouldn't puke anywhere but on himself and the bed!!) Needless to say it was a very long and stressful night. For some reason when it's your own kids, it's really not that bad! But it is frustrating! i love my 3 and wouldn't trade them for anything. By the way, did Chelsea have a boy or girl? What'd they name him/her?
That is hilarious McKenzie. The life of a mom. I use to try to do it all, be as quiet as I could and let Dave snore away. Eight years later, I have gotten pretty good about kicking the lump next to me and saying "YOU HELPED MAKE THE KID!"
Kenzie, As much as you probably think it's not, that was super hilarious. You're awesome and I miss you tons!
When it is your own kid, you only start with one, and you slowly get used to it. It does get annoying sometimes when you just want to sleep, and the dad can sleep through anything, but it gets better. You can take naps when they do too(if they will take a nap). It is all worth it in the end.
I taped the biggest loser since we went to the hospital too, and my recorder actually worked this time, so if you would like to watch it, I won't erase it.
Maybe something is telling you that your motherly instincts are kicking in.and that is what is making you feel like that you want a baby. It isnt a bad thing if you want a child.
Being a new mom I totally understand what you are saying. I used to sleep through everything! Johnny would be the one to wake up when the dog wanted to go outside, not me, slept through it all. Now every little noise wakes me up. I miss my sleep like nothing else, I loved my sleep. Even though Brook is only 3 months old, I haven't slept through the night for probably closer to 6 months. Getting up to pee all night long really gets you ready for no sleep. No matter how much I love sleep though, wouldn't trade a good nights sleep for even a minute with little Brook.
Jenny, I am learning that I am like you in many ways. Marcus hears Phoebe scratch on the door, and I can sleep through it with no problem, but put me in charge of kids, and I sleep very lightly. I guess that means my children won't be neglected because I'm sleeping!
