We Survived!!

We have been a little bit worried about getting a new Sunbeam class, and today was D-day! Amazingly, we survived. In only 2 hours with them, we've learned a few things:

1: Ben and Mary can't sit by each other. (Thanks for the tip Julie)
2: One of us has to sit by Mary or she'll fold the chair up on herself
3: David's Mom isn't allowed to bring him to Primary. He reminds me of myself (from what my Mom says). My first grade teacher use to have to pull me off of my Mom every morning at the start of school. Momma's girl.
4: Desmond gets to stay in class even when he's sobbing.
5: Sophie likes to take her time coloring.
6: Evia doesn't like to "color" in her scriptures.
7: A candy bribe will get any one of these 6 kids to do whatever we want them to!

It will be a rough couple of weeks getting all the kids out of nursery mode and into Sunbeam mode, but once that's done, we'll have a great time in there. I was going to take pictures of them in their cute crowns, but it totally slipped my mind when we got to class.

This post is HILARIOUS!! You know what- you guys are SO great in there. Mary came home SO excited with her little crown and her Book of Mormon. And I was so impressed!! I love what you guys are doing- the marking, and the update of what they learned in class- GENIUS!! Mary is in VERY good hands, but I already knew that! :)

Thanks Julie! I stole my ideas from Sugardoodle.net. I know they don't remember what we teach them 10 minutes after it's been taught, so the update is so the parents know we really are teaching them, and maybe they can help the kids remember they did learn something at church :)

As for marking scriptures, the lady I got the idea from said the kids LOVED having their own scriptures, and marking a scripture each weeks makes them want to look at them and find what they've marked. It gets them familiar with the scriptures sorta.

We really are going to have a lot of fun this year once we all get used to each other and 2 PM.

Evia yesterday said, "It's dark. That means it's time to go home."

HILARIOUS.
I am glad Julie clued you into the Ben/Mary issue, I totally forgot. Here are another few things to keep in mind...
Watch Ben for sudden disrobing. If he yells 'Falcon Punch' be sure to block. And when all else fails, threaten his Wii. It even works better then candy!!

You guys are awesome. Thank you for taking on our wildthings. There is no better birth control then a new batch of Sunbeams.

I laughed so hard reading your comment, Michelle. I didn't know what a falcon punch was from, but Marcus clued me in. Super Smash bros couldn't be his favorite game could it? That's what he talked about Sunday.
