I was pretty excited to see little shopping carts at Ace in St. George. Max always insists on pushing the cart, so it was perfect... Until we got to the toy section. He saw a Thomas track set he wanted. He picked it up and said, "Mom, I'm buying this." and stuck it in his cart. I told him we didn't have enough money for it. (I wasn't about to spend $50 on Thomas!). Usually at that point, he puts it down and goes to find the next thing he wants. He wasn't having it though. He insisted on having the Thomas track, but there was no way we were getting it. After arguing and having a mini tantrum, Mom won, and he put it back on the shelf.
I'm not so sure I'm going to be excited to see kid shopping carts again. Their magic powers of 'I put it in the cart and Mom buys it' are some we can definitely live without.
