Computer troubles

I was going through reading the comments on other posts, and realized I never wrote about how we got our new computer. It was quite the fiasco! So, I'm going to complain to you.

Here we go... Marcus and I finally got a day off together, President's day, and so we decided we were going to go to lunch or dinner together, but my big sister, Ashlie, was coming down for the day, so we decided to go earlier and eat breakfast, then look for a computer. So, we go up to IHOP. We were both so excited. We haven't been to IHOP in a LONG time. We had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. No big deal. It's a holiday, I expected it. Then the host guy came and took us to our table. The waitress was right behind him, and said to us, "I'll be with you in just a minute" no big deal. We take forever to choose what we want to eat anyway, except this time. I found what I wanted in like 3 minutes, which is a miracle, because I'm terrible at making decisions.

So, we were sitting there dreaming about the yummy food we were going to be eating in a few minutes... So I started watching the waitress we had. She messed up drinks on one table, and got another table pancakes instead of what they actually ordered. The General Manager actually had to go to apologize to one of the tables for her because they were angry... I mention to Marcus, "Man, we got a great waitress" *heavy on the sarcasm* Then I looked at my phone, and it was 15 minutes since we'd been seated... no glasses of water... no orders taken... no communication from our waitress for that whole time... I said, "We should go get donuts from Albertson's if she doesn't talk to us in the next 5 minutes." Well, she never did, so we up and left and got donuts from Albertsons. It was quite the let down. I was so excited for my cinnamon french toast, and I traded it for a donut and orange juice :( Needless to say, we're boycotting IHOP for a while, and we don't recommend it to anybody right now. *sigh* That depresses us.

Then we headed to Best Buy, and I had to open my big mouth, "With the way this day started, they aren't going to have the computer you want in stock." DING DING DING! It was a good computer, and it was only on sale that day, but of course the Best Buy was too small to carry the sale items. Even at Ace Hardware we had everything that was on sale, not just what we wanted to have. GRR! Marcus really wanted a computer, and we were just going to go home and order the one he had chosen off the internet.

So, we go to my parents house to get the dog, and checked online for the computer... They won't ship the computer to the Best Buy in St. George. WHY?!? If they shipped it to our house it was going to cost $50 just for the shipping. That's a lot of money! So, I was trying to convince Marcus to go to Vegas and pick up the computer from a Best Buy down there. Of course he was going to call first and make sure they had one,.. Well, he didn't want to go to Vegas... So, here's my depressed, computerless husband, and someone, I don't remember who, said, "Costco has computers!" Well, Marcus got a smile on his face, and after just a little encouragement, we headed back up to St. George for the second time in one day, and went to Costco with Pace and Liz. Luckily they had a computer that would make Marcus happy. We got it, and then went to dinner with Pace, Liz, Logan and Heather at Pizza Factory. It was yummy, and Marcus came home a happy camper. We had to set it up and everything that night of course, and now we have a fully functional computer. YAY!

ASHLIE! Writing this I remembered you have a story about IHOP to tell me, so, e-mail me!

I'm horrible at making decisions too, but I usually get french toast because I chicken out on trying something new. haha but this is sad/funny because I just posted a new blog. About IHOP. Free Pancake Day! I haven't been in while either, and I'm sad that your day started off so bad! :( I'm happy to hear you have a new computer though! :)

Johnny and I have had bad experiences at IHop too, we don't go unless the person we are going with really wants to. After going there once and having them be out of what we both wanted to order (two different things, can't remember what they were now) we just don't go there, and I used to love to go, I LOVE PANCAKES!! I'll have to start paying attention to the computer section at Costco to see if they have a computer for us too.
