Cake Smash

I got the kit for this page for free here! I made this page for a contest. It's from Max's first birthday. He LOVED eating the cake and frosting.

2 Families, 1 Weekend

It always seems that when either Mine or Marcus' families have something planned, the other has planned something as well. This always turns out to be chaotic, fun-filled, non-stop weekends. Here's a super condensed version of our weekend...

Pace, Liz and Kairi came down Thursday night/Friday morning if you want to get technical, and stayed the weekend. We hung out and were really boring. I think we sat in the living room all day, but hey, we weren't in the same chair for more than 2 hours at a time :) On Saturday, all my family came over and we had a birthday dinner for all the May, June, and July birthdays. This included navajo tacos, swimming, cribbage, visiting, being lazy...... Happy Birthday to Shaynie, McKenzie, Branae, Marcus, Dad, Sadie, Pace, Liz! (I think I got them all!

We cut visiting with my family short to go eat cake and ice cream with Zoi. She turned 2! Nate and his family came down and we got to see them for a BRIEF second. Max was worn out and passed out before Aunt Natalie or Zach or Noah could have a chance to hold him. They had never met. Sorry! Hopefully next time he'll cooperate, and hopefully that next time won't be too far in the future.

We chilled with Aunt Liz and Kairi. Max tries to hold his bottle with his feet, but doesn't have quite enough monkey inside him.

Marcus got in on the cribbage action. A new favorite at our house. It's currently played normally, on the Evo and the Ipad. Marcus is usually playing whichever one he can get at the moment.

We hung out with our buddies. Max, Asher, Kaleb
(with Logan and Branae in the back.)

Swam in the swimming pool. Max loves being thrown in the air. He's a thrill seeker.

Played with the nephews... Marcus and Kiler

zoi shared her toys with us

Had cake and ice cream with the birthday girl. Happy Birthday zoi

Celebrated Marcus' first Father's Day. Quote from Marcus while laying on the bed with Max similar to this picture... "This is what Father's day is all about."

Shared our toys with our buddies

Loved the attention Kairi gave us. Kairi adores Max, and Max loves any attention he gets!

6 Month Stats

Yesterday was Max's 6 month check-up. Here's how it went...
He is 18 pounds 4 ounces
28 inches tall
his head is 43 cm around
and he got 3 shots
Trying to get a picture of his bandaids on his legs is a joke. He never stops moving, but he's very happy!
I'm tough, I don't need no stinkin' bandaids!
On the 15th, we "celebrated" his half birthday. He got half a cupcake, but wasn't allowed to eat it. It was overloaded with frosting! He's getting too big way too fast!

It was a HUGE cupcake

Happy 6 month...

Daddy mark to Marcus...

Mommy mark to McKenzie...

and 6 months old to Max!

We can hardly believe it's already been 6 months since we were in the hospital having Max. He has changed our lives drastically! Here are a few of his accomplishments and parts of his daily routine at 6 months old.
Wakes up between 6 & 7, has 3 naps (sometimes 4) during the day and goes to bed between 8 & 9.
He grabs any and every thing he can get his hands on. His favorite is Mommy's hair. I swear I'm going to go bald!
He absolutely loves the water, warm or cold, he wants to be in it.
More proof that he grabs anything he can. He loves to be where he can see what we're doing.
Has decided he is done nursing. I fought him for 2 days to eat, and finally gave up, so now he only nurses when he wakes up and when he goes to bed. He is really good at holding his own bottle.
He's doing amazing at sitting on his own. He tips every now and then, but for the most part, he's got it down.
He still doesn't like riding in the car. He is getting better at driving around town for the most part, but any more than 10 minutes is too long for him... So not looking forward to driving to Fish Lake.
Is still a baldy and gets to wear a sweet hat. His hair is growing in SLOWLY though!
Sits in the high chair and picks up foods and feeds himself, like saltines.
He is becoming a happier baby. Yesterday he was on the floor for 30 minutes and didn't yell or cry. It's honestly a new record!

He is also...

Rolling over. Since he learned how to roll both ways, he likes being on his belly more. He used to hate being on his belly.

Starting to scoot. He isn't very good right now, but he is slowly getting the hang of it.

Wearing size 3 diapers

Eating pretty much everything, but he doesn't like peas, and pears give him a bellyache.

Loves being outside. If he's fussy, this will make him stop crying. Looking forward to camping for this reason!

Still a Momma's boy. Hopefully we'll break him of this sooner than I got over it.
